A coleção do Centro Cultural da Caloura reflete uma vida dedicada à exploração artística e ao intercâmbio cultural do seu fundador, Tomaz Borba Vieira. Face à impossibilidade de acomodar este crescente acervo na casa e no ateliê do artista, o Centro Cultural da Caloura foi criado com o propósito de partilhar este património com um público mais alargado. Assim, proporciona aos visitantes a rara oportunidade de experienciar uma coleção que une a história pessoal do artista com um legado artístico único e vasto.

The collection at the Centro Cultural da Caloura represents a lifetime of artistic exploration and cultural exchange by its founder, Tomaz Borba Vieira. Spanning from the 17th century to the present, it encompasses a diverse range of media, including painting, sculpture, photography, collages, and screen printing.

What began as exchanges with fellow artists, intellectuals, and friends, grew into a curated collection enriched by meaningful acquisitions. As the artist’s home and atelier could no longer house this growing body of work, CCC was established to share this patrimony with a wider audience, offering visitors a rare opportunity to experience a collection that seamlessly blends personal history with artistic heritage.
