A coleção do Centro Cultural da Caloura resulta de uma vida dedicada à criação artística e ao intercâmbio cultural do seu fundador, Tomaz Borba Vieira. Reúne obras que vão do século XVII à contemporaneidade, abrangendo diversos suportes, como pintura, escultura, fotografia e serigrafia.

The collection of the Centro Cultural da Caloura stems from a lifetime dedicated to artistic creation and cultural exchange by its founder, Tomaz Borba Vieira. It brings together works ranging from the 17th century to the present, encompassing a wide variety of media, including painting, sculpture, photography and silkscreen printing.

Centro Cultural da Caloura convida a comunidade a percorrer um espaço onde a memória, a natureza e o cuidado se entrelaçam.

Inspirada no legado marcante de Conceição Borba Vieira — que durante anos deu vida ao nosso jardim e conduziu com afeto as suas visitas guiadas —, esta atividade retoma esse gesto de partilha e transmissão de conhecimento, renovando-o através de um olhar científico e comunitário.

Em parceria com a Direção Regional do Ambiente e orientada pelo botânico Guilherme Roxo, esta visita conduz-nos à descoberta da flora açoriana, revelando as ligações entre a biodiversidade, o património cultural e a identidade do nosso território.

The Centro Cultural da Caloura invites the community to explore a space where memory, nature and care intertwine.

Inspired by the remarkable legacy of Conceição Borba Vieira — who, for many years, brought our garden to life and warmly led its guided tours — this activity continues her gesture of sharing and passing on knowledge, renewing it through a scientific and community-based perspective.

In partnership with the Regional Directorate for the Environment and guided by botanist Guilherme Roxo, this visit invites us to discover the flora of the Azores, revealing the connections between biodiversity, cultural heritage and the identity of our territory.
